Grade 6 Israel and the Jewish Life Cycle

Grade 6: ISRAEL AND THE JEWISH LIFE CYCLE.  Grade 6 students focus their studies on Israel – the land, people, government, religion, culture, economy, archaeology, history, and the current politics of peace.  In addition, they learn about the Jewish life cycle – the rituals and observances of major Jewish life cycle events – from birth, consecration, bar/bat mitzvah and confirmation to marriage, death and mourning.  Studies include participation in a mock wedding, a visit to a mikveh, a visit to a Jewish funeral home and a tour of the Temple Beth-El cemetery.
