Rabbi Voss-Altman and Philip Eil present: Jews and Anxiety

An event every week that begins at 7:00pm on Tuesday, repeating until October 30, 2018
Take a deep dive into one of the defining themes of modern Jewish life. We will study anxiety from a variety of Jewish perspectives, with texts, articles and film clips that explore the medical, Biblical, and sociological foundations of Jewish anxiety. We will also analyze texts that define anxiety through the framework of anti-Semitism and the Holocaust.
Philip Eil is a freelance journalist based in his hometown, Providence, Rhode Island. He was the news editor and staff writer at the alt-weekly, the Providence Phoenix until the paper closed in 2014. Since then, he has contributed to VICE, the Atlantic, Salon, the Jewish Daily Forward, and Rhode Island Monthly, among other outlets. He teaches part-time in the Literary Arts + Studies department at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). His classes include “Journalism in the 21st Century,” “’I Am Providence’: The Words and Worlds of H.P. Lovecraft,“True Crime,” and “Introduction to Nonfiction Workshop.”
